Yes, after using Command Prompt it showed matlab_crash_dump followed by some numbers (and it had that line for the different times that I attempted to run the program during the course of that day)

I tried this procedure and nothing happened. I was just returned to the command prompt. When I click on the Matlab icon on the desktop, a window flashes and disappears before I can see what's in it.

If you open the matlab_crash_dump files, there should be a note at the end that tells you how to send that file to MathWorks. If it doesn't contact Technical Support using the telephone icon, send those crash files to Support, and work with the Support staff to determine why MATLAB is crashing on startup on your machine and hopefully how to correct or avoid the problem.
