Which kind of workstation would suit best?

Hello,
We are doing large simulations with Simulink (2011b), both RTW compiled model and not compiled, and I'm looking to buy a workstation for this task (it takes too long on our laptops). What kind of workstation should I look for to have the best performances (execution time)? Which kind of processor, etc.?
Thanks

You should look if your simulations mostly memory (RAM) or computing power (CPU). based on that you can basically select any workstation with sufficient CPU, sufficient RAM or both.
Furthermore you could investigate whether you could use multiple processors to perform the simulation; in that case more processor cores = better.
So first look at the current processor and RAM usage of your calculation in the current setup (e.g. using task manager [performance tab] in windows) and base your purchase on you requirements there.
