Compile DLL from Simulink model

I have a few different Simulink models that I've inherited, which have been previously compiled into DLLs which are then used by ADAMs in some other simulation. To use the newer versions of ADAMS, we need to recompile these models in a newer version of MATLAB, but I have no experience compiling the models myself.
I've managed to compile the models by opening them and clicking "Build Model", and have produced an exe, but don't seem to be able to find a DLL. I was wondering if I'm missing some setting in the configuration parameters window, but I've read through the options and can't see anything obvious.
I've had a look at the documents references here, but I don't have access to the Embedded Coder license (though I do have both Simulink and MATLAB Coder, and the Real-Time Workshop license) so won't be able to use this method. I'm pretty sure that my former colleagues put this together with only the licenses that I have, but I could be wrong.
