PMSM (Single-Phase) rotor position at standstill due to asymmetric airgap parameter

5 views (last 30 days)
What is the zero reference of this parameter?
Is it the min of the magnetic reluctance thanks the asymmetric airgap or is it related the stator?
(is the zero the green line, the violet or the red one?)
What is the rotor position at startup? is the standstill position or is it random?

Hello Federico,
Zero reference is the blue line. The initial position of the rotor is given on the variable tab. If we initialize the position to 0 degrees, internally we take into account the rotor asymmetry, so rotor_angle = angular_position + pos_standstill. Therefore, depending what value we initialize the rotor angle with it can be standstill or random.

Joel
