How to run 3D FFT?

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to do a 3D FFT on a set of data...
I have written a script to calculate a function in the xy-plane at a specified z value. It can also calculate in the zx or zy-plane at a specified y or x respectively. In order to run a 3D FFT one would have to run through a stack in the xy than the zx than the zy planes at all z y and x.... This would take forever if the stack is 1000-2000 cuts thick.
Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks, BN

Have you checked out fftn?
