Error using readtable (line 216): Invalid default value for property 'FillValue' in class 'matlab.io​.DatetimeV​ariableImp​ortOptions​'

I have just installed Matlab 2018b and have found that the function readtable no longer works.

Example

The file in the current folder called dataset.csv containing the data

name,first,final

hospital,Y0012,Y0012

On entering the instruction

x=readtable('dataset.csv')

into the Command Window, the following error message is obtained:

Error using readtable (line 216) Invalid default value for property 'FillValue' in class 'matlab.io.DatetimeVariableImportOptions': Invalid default value for property 'MonthsOfYear' in class 'datetime':

No appropriate method, property, or field 'matlab' for class 'settings'.

Note: readtable detected the following parameters: 'Delimiter', ',', 'HeaderLines', , 'ReadVariableNames', true, 'Format', ''

Any help at resolving this issue would be most welcome.
