Can I distribute this legally?

The university I attend has MATLAB educational licenses on certain computers. I have been building a program for use with a board game my friends and I frequently play. Basically it monitors what is happening in the game and keeps track of everyone's income and bank (this can be a tedious process and is almost always screwed up when doing by hand). My question is, can I compile this code (using the educational license) and distribute it (for free) to this games community? Or would this be illegal?

You should ask the university regarding this. If there is no I.P claim on the code used, then there is no harm in sharing. You can either use File Exchange to host the script or make a standalone using Matlab Coder
