I am currently using arch linux with a fresh install of R2018a.
I tried to run im2double and I got the error on cannot reload libmwxcp_dwarf.so
I check the ldd command everything is linked. I am not sure what exactly happened.

Got the same error when trying to run tfestimate. Everithing worked fine until last week, and I changed nothing to my matlab installation.

Got the same problem when trying to use im2double.
Is it due to missing of certain packages?

Do you have to log in every time before matlab starts? I had the same problem and when I looked at the libraries connected to it, there was a problem with a network library. So, I went back and reinstalled a clean version that does not require online access.

You should not have to log in each time, except in some cases involving Mathworks hosted licenses for trial purposes or some Distributed Computing purposes.
