Translating a 3D shape

I have used the following code to generate a hemisphere and rotated it:
[x1,y1,z1]=sphere;
x1=x1(11:end,:);
y1=y1(11:end,:);
z1=z1(11:end,:);
r=10;
sf=surf(r.*x1,r.*y1,r.*z1);
rotate(sf,[1,0,0],90);
axis equal
Now I want to translate the shape to a new 3D position vector, I tried sf1=translate(sf,[0,100,0]); but this did not work.
