License Limitation for non virtual blocks

I am getting an error message when I run the "power_statcom_gto48p" case in simulink. The error message is " Number of blocks in the block diagram 'power_statcom_gto48p' and all models it references exceeds the license limit of 1000 non virtual blocks". I am using a student license for matlab R2017B. Please advise what I should do.

It depends on what you intend to do with the model. If your professor asked all the students in a lecture to have a look at this demo to prepare for next lecture, then the professor might made a mistake, and/or some co-students run an academic license and some not.
If the demo is a starting point for a larger project like a bachelor thesis, then you should ask you professor to access one of the academic licenses.
It it is something else - let us know.

I had a look at the model. It was not obvious that it had a large number of blocks. I wonder there was a problem that triggered the license issue... not sure what it could be.
Is there a way to determine how many nonvirtusl blocks a model is using? When I used model explorer I don't think I saw more than 50ish blocks.
