Recognition of images of stationary tools: pens, pencils, rulers,..etc.

I'm going to write a matlab code of image classification of stationary tools: pens, pencils, rulers,..etc. what is the most powerful and technique should I use: AI like neural network, Genetic, Particle swarm or the function ImageCategoryClassification of computer vision matlab toolbox. how could I obtain a good recognition?
