Running several instances of matlab compiled executables on a Linux server

Hi All, I am trying to understand how a MATLAB compiled executable will work when several instances of the application are launched at the same time. The application itself has no parallel functions implemented. Will the several instances use the multiple cores on the single machine (or node)? Thanks, Mathew
