My understanding is that you would need an Academic license for that purpose.

If you were at the highschool or elementary level then the general avenue would be https://www.mathworks.com/academia/highschool/products.html. That page does, however, have a bit of ambiguity, as that Primary / Secondary page says

"Not ready to equip your school? Start with an individual license. MATLAB Student: starting at USD 49"

which might imply that a Student license could be used by a Primary or Secondary staff -- which is a possibility that I do not see listed in the license terms or FAQ.

But if you want to be certain, you can always contact the Sales department using the Contact Us link in the upper-right corner of this page, explain your plans to the Sales staff, and ask them about the right type of license for you.

It depends a bit which license type your student will access during the course.

A) If you ask them to buy there own student license, you need to have your own academic license.

B) If they access a campus license (Total Academic/Student Headcount), or a large concurrent license, then there is no problem at all, as you can access this too.

C) In case you have a classroom license, there might be something like a free instructor copy/license. Please contact MathWorks Sales.
