Hello,
I am interested in making data markers (circles, for example) in a 2D plot look like they have depth/3D curvature. Does anyone know of a way to either make circle markers look like spheres in a 2D plot, specify multiple colors within each marker, or assign a colormap to each marker?
Thank you in advance for your help!

You may create small balls using a "sphere" as follows :
You may also use scatter3 to generate 3D markers using the "filled" option :

Thank you, but this isn't quite what I'm looking for.
I have 2D data I want to represent with hemispherical data markers or circles with shading to make them appear to pop out of the page. Any suggestions for how to do this?
