I'm a student , can I use Matlab for personal purposes (non commercial) provided that I installed it for student individual use?

				You can use it as long as the license remains valid. So, if you want to use MATLAB to balance your checkbook, go ahead.

        Yes, you can. Studying is a kind of personal purpose also. The license conditions restrict the commercial use and for working for a project in a lab, a student license is not suiting also. But if you e.g. improve your Matlab skills by participating in this forum and run the posted code, or if you brush up the photos of your last holidays using the image processing toolbox, this is still covered.
If you are in doubt, you can ask Mathworks and explain, what you want to use Matlab for. They can and will give you a 100% official answer. This is much cheaper than living with doubts or getting troubles afterwards.
