Switching & conduction losses of single phase pwm converter

3 views (last 30 days)
I am working on a project in simpower/simulink where I need to find out the total switching losses as well as conduction losses of the system. The system is single phase pwm converter and I am using MOSFET devices. I need to know how to find the losses and what is the simple way to do it? Can I do it in simulink or do I have to write code for this?

Hey Amal, I am doing my PhD research as well in this field. Well I personally use Plecs when I try to find losses due to switching. It would give you a very detailed modeling and close results to real life modeling. I am not sure how to do it in Matlab/Simulink were you able to figure it out?
I have also a question for you, were you able to find a module for SiC devices? I noticed you had a question about it in some other post. Thanks

Simscape Electrical has this capability. Check out the example Quantifying IGBT Thermal Losses.
