How to plot the political geography map in Matlab

Hi all,

I need to make a scatter plot overlapped to the world political geography map. I tried to use plot_google_map function from FileExchange and it works fine but unfortunately the image quality is too low for my needs. I tried to use geoshow but I did not find any option to plot the political map. Is there any way to do it?

Can you be more specific about the geographic extents of the map you're trying to make, what exactly you want as the background, and what image quality you need?
