How does the phased array toolbox realize the off-grid time delay with phased.FreeSpace system object?

While the time delay is not corresponding to a grid point, e.g. half a grid or one 7 of the grid. how does the code process?
Here I suppose the smallest grid is defined by the sampling rate of the signal. Is it right?

Hi Cole,
You are right that the grid is defined by the sampling rate of the signal. If the time delay is not corresponding to a grid point, in the current version, the signal is fractional delayed.
