How to used Simulink Edit->Find menu option?

I've tried repeatedly to find components of Simulink models using the menu option Edit->Find, but it never finds anything. I must misunderstand how it is to be used. Help...

If you want to search for any blocks, you can find a search box on the top left corner of Simulink Library Browser. Please try search blocks there and see if any blocks appear.

That searches for blocks in the library of blocks that are available for any Simulink diagram. I want to search for blocks in a Simulink diagram that I have created. On the Simulink window, selecting menu option Edit->Find brings up a dialog window with such options as "Simulink objects", "Stateflow objects" and "Search block diagram parameters". That is what I need help with.
