how is the limit calculated in the lookup function from the datafeed toolbox when retrieving data from bloomberg?

when using the lookup function of the datafeed toolbox
lookup(bbConnection,'DE0005190003','instrumentListRequest','maxResults',500);
how will the number of requests be calculated?
normally the requests are counted per security/field combination
