Hello! In Mathworks example of Rayleigh probability density function, they define scale parameter B as B=0.5. I would like to know why?

They do not define B=0.5, they just choose B=0.5 as an example.
You can choose B whatever you like when calling raylpdf.

Thank you, sir. It seems strange for me to define B whatever I like to. I think that there is some rules for choosing the value of B. Do you have any suggestions?

Every value of B gives you a probability density function.
You can adjust B to meet your given data as close as possible.
