Can I remove the White noise apart from the needle shape? Noise can be anywhere in the image

Hi All I am very new to Image processing. I have anumber of images in Black and White. I want to remove the noise in the images so that I just get the Needle left in the image. The position of the Needle can be any where. Also, the WHITE noise can be anywhere in this image. Can anyone help me please to identify the Needle or Removal of un-wanted Noise in the image? Many many thanks for your time.

How do you define a needle as oppose to noise?

Hi Adam Thanks for your quick response I have the template image of the NEEDLE White colour. I want to remove the unwanted part and then want to match the features of saved template.
