How can i read Name-Value Pair Arguments in mex C function?

Hi,
I am writing a program that needs to use Name-Value pair variable passed as an argument. I am trying to figure out
  1. How to read this variable in my mex function's prhs array.
  2. How to access individual name-value pair.
I am new to matlab mex programming, so I am not sure where to look for information too. Kindly help...

Do you want to manually parse two inputs at a time to get the Name-Value pairs to use downstream in your code? And do you have default values for unspecified pair values?
