Faded text in editor

In Matlab 2022a, all text in the editor window is faded to the point it's barely readable. All colour and font settings are identical for the Command Window, Command History and Editor, but the other windows look normal and only the editor has this issue. A bit of digging makes it seem even worse - as far as I can tell the Editor does not recognise most settings applied to it. For example, if I change the Desktop Code Font from "Monospaced" to "Nachlieli CLM" (the next one in the list), the Command Window and Command History both correctly change, but the Editor does not. Making the same change in 2021a correctly changes the font for all three windows. Colour changes are applied to all three windows, but always extremely desaturated for the Editor.
Does anyone know if this is a deliberate change for 2022a? And whether deliberate or not, is there any way to fix this?

Disclaimer: I don't run anything newer than R2019b, so I haven't had to deal with this. My perspective is limited.

I had no such problems when I was using that version. Why not upgrade to 2022b and see if it's still a problem? Perhaps make the font size bigger. I'd say it might be due to something with your particular video adapter or Operating System settings. Check your Font settings and Display Properties settings in Control Panel. See if r2022a has the same problem on some other computer. If you still have a problem, call tech support.

Using 2022b isn't currently an option, the next release we roll out will likely be 2023a. This happens on multiple different PCs, running RHEL 7 and 8. It's clearly not a system problem, it's an issue with just this version of Matlab. Changing the font size obviously doesn't affect the colour saturation, and in any case as I noted part of the problem is that the editor often doesn't accept changes to the font that are corrently applied everywhere else.

I’ve never had any such problems with any MATLAB release.
MATLAB appears to be sensitive to graphics driver issues, so be sure the graphics drivers are the most current. While MATLAB offers this with rendererinfo (and opengl while it’s still available), and Resolving Low-Level Graphics Issues, that driver currency information may not be completely accurate, so it’s best to use the AMD or NVIDIA online apps that detect the hardware and the current installed driver version to determine if any driver updates are necessary.
