How to specify 2 different colors in matlab command ' plotmatrix '?

I am trying to generate a plot using plotmatrix(X) with row 1:8 of X in blue and 9:16 of X in red color. How to specify 2 different colors in matlab command ' plotmatrix '?
plotmatrix(X,'*r') is plotting entire dataset of X in red color. plotmatrix(X(1:8,:),'*b',X(9:16,:),'*r') gives error.
