i'm working in cubesat labriry and the cube sat keeps orbits around the earth i want it to stay in one position ex. stay above newyork city

You need a geosynchronous orbit, which is about 42164 km from the centre of the Earth. (Careful, orbits are also often specified by their distance above the surface of the Earth
