Curve fitting tool does not show main plot in Matlab 2013b and 2014a

When I use the cftool in Matlab 2013b or 2014a on Mac OSX 10.9.2 it does not show the 'Main Plot'. I've heard that this problem depends on the Java machine (JRE). I updated the JRE to the latest build, but the one used by Matlab is still the old one and the problem is still there. Is there any way to fix the problem ?

I have the same problem, get a load of java related errors also. Did you get anywhere with this?
