How to use additional files like e.g. gshhs_h.b, WORLDDATAMAP, etc.?

I need to plot high-resolution coastline in my maps. So I downloaded gshhs_h.b, compressed it, and put into C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2012b\toolbox\map\mapdata
Then I tried a command 'filename = unzip('gshhs_h.zip', tempdir);' but I got a reply 'Function UNZIP was unable to find file ''gshhs_h.zip''.'
The same with WORLDDATAMAP. Matlab cannot find it. Do I have to do something special?
Thanks!

You should first check that the mapdata folder is on your MATLAB path.
You could then try: which gshhs_h.zip
You may need to run: rehash toolbox
