Stereo matching: coordinates of correspondences

I have a pair of rectified stereo images. And I need pixel coordinates in left and right image of correspondence points. Next step will be stereo triangulation. I have found numerous articles about stereo matching but I don't know which approach is the best one. Computer Vision System Toolbox contains function disparity() which directly establish disparity map but I only need determine which points are matching. Could you please recommend me what scenario I should use? Exists some Matlab function for this purpose?
