Why do I receive an error when I copy a subsystem that contains a Joint Spring and Damper block in SimMechanics 2.0 (R13+)?
I have a SimMechanics model that contains a Joint Spring and Damper block placed in a subsystem. If I copy that subsystem
and connect it to the original, I receive the following error message:
Error in block 'new_double_pend/Element2/Joint Spring & Damper': Block initialization commands cannot be evaluated.
MATLAB error message: Error using ==> add_block
A new block named 'new_double_pend/Element2/Joint Spring & Damper/SpringDamper4' cannot be added
If I manually create the same subsystem and connect it to the original subsystem, the model runs without any problems.
Is this the expected behavior?

This problem has been fixed in SimMechanics 2.1 (R13+).
If you are using a previous version, read the following:
As a workaround, you can replace the Joint Spring and Damper block in the copied subsystem with a new Joint Spring and Damper block from the SimMechanics library. This should allow you to simulate your model without any problems.
