Applying Model-Based Design to Commercial Vehicle Electronics Systems

By Michael Burke and Tom Egel, MathWorks

Engineers developing commercial vehicle electronics systems face challenges including customizing designs for individual customer requirements,  guaranteeing and verifying vehicle performance, and managing the expense of verification and testing of a large number of unique electronic system configurations.

This paper shows how Model-Based Design can be used to address these challenges. It presents ways to support design configurability, approaches for defining a system architecture that facilitates reuse, and capabilities for modeling state-based systems.
