Power the Community

Energy Mentors and Founding Sponsor EY, supported by MathWorks, are excited to offer the "Power the Community" design competition for college students around the world.  This competition challenges students to design the energy infrastructure for a community of 2,000 families, each supported by the combined salaries of a nurse and a schoolteacher.  Their designs must be affordable, reliable, and sustainable, and should improve the lives of community members by providing access to clean, safe, and efficient energy.  The competition runs during the 2023-2024 academic year.  The winning team will receive a grand prize of $10,000 and the opportunity to showcase their design to industry experts.
